A Diamond-Studded iPad? Seriously!
If you want a product as pimped-out as the Apple iPad , how about taking it to the nines by smothering it with 11.43 karats of diamonds? Mervis Diamond Importers plans on releasing “this stunning design to the masses” beginning in June 1. (As if the masses can afford one.)
If it still interests you, the diamond-studded iPad is hand-set in an oblique micro-pave style. Only a limited number of diamond iPads will be made , each costing US$19,999.
PSP Go Suffer Really Low Sales
Looks like the PSP Go handheld gaming console did not reach the expectations of its maker, as Sony’s evolved version of its hit gaming device only sold 17,618 units between late December 2009 to early March 2010. That number is way, way low compared to how PlayStation Portable sold 667,961 units during the same time period.
This is why Sony is seriously considering relaunching the PSP Go with a tweaked-up marketing campaign and drastic price cuts. At 26,800 yen per PSP Go, it is just a few thousand yens lower than a PS3 .
EA Sports Active 2.0 Will Work on PS3 Too
After EA Sports introduces the Active, an exercise accessory for Nintendo Wii , the company now comes up with Active 2.0, which is said to work on Wii, PS3 , iPod Touch , and iPhone . The details are quite sketchy, but EA promises that the Active 2.0 program is set to “deliver true fitness results by featuring an innovative wireless control system.
Apart from the heart monitor, the Active 2.0 now comes with a new leg and arm straps with motion sensors, a heart rate monitor, and a new online hub to track and share the users’ workout data.
Now we wonder whether the Active 2.0 will also be compatible with Xbox 360 .
HP Shows Off Its Slate Tablet with Flash and AIR
The lack of Flash and Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) in iPad is Apple’s Achilles heel. And to add insult to injury, HP is showing off its upcoming tablet that features Flash and AIR.
In response to the iPad’s advertisement that was seen during this year’s Academy Awards, the Windows 7-based Slate was presented by playing full episodes of MTV’s “The City” and Flash games. It also shows how the Slate utilizes multi-touch pinch-to-zoom functions on its capacitive touchscreen display.
The Slate also has an enhanced desktop, adding a theme with large icons as well as letting users “star” their favorite shortcuts. It also has an additional menu bar on top of the screen and a floating keyboard that can be moved around the screen.
We still do not know about specifications, pricing, and release date of the Slate.
